about

The real and the imagined run in parallel.

“The purpose of technology is to make the dream a fact…. The end is to make the Earth a garden paradise; to make the mountain speak” (Reyner Banham)

My pictures are shot on 6/7 format. Using natural light, portable flash equipment, and a slide projector on location - a generator / car battery providing the power.

Sat on a hill at the edge of a city – head above the smoke, watching vehicles course along the motorway, clouds flying across the sky, islands of grey rising up out of the green. This is my ocean, I swim through this landscape, projecting possibilities, creating opportunities; making pictures of the space I live in, a ‘UK pastoral’.

HISTORY

Having got my degree in photography at Nottingham Trent, I went to work in London as a professional assistant for 2 years and then onto Sydney to continue working for some top international photographers. On returning to the Uk i studied for my masters at Falmouth Art College - wanting to concentrate on creating my own images.
